Here’s the blurb:

Emily arrives at Westbury Hall with a job to do. She’s to clean and conserve all of the books in their impressive library, preserving them for future generations. Not long into her stay at the house, she bumps into the night guard, George. She’d expected an old, balding guy with a comb over, so the hunky chap she actually meets is a very pleasant surprise. The introductions complete, George leaves Emily in peace to get on with her job. But when a falling photograph sets off a chain reaction of ghostly events, Emily and George are thrown together in order to find out who—or what—is causing them. Their investigation uncovers a tragic past, a lost love, and a stunning secret.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is a revised and extended of a previously published title, Love Through Time.

Excerpt
Emily received some strange looks and frowns from the people she passed as she walked across the graveled drive towards the front entrance of Westbury Hall. She could appreciate their confusion. It was closing time for the stately home and the last of the visitors were being politely ushered out of the building, yet she was heading inside. What’s more, she’d been invited. She had a job to do.

An elderly lady stood in the porch smiling and nodding as she held the door open for those departing the property. Most of them seemed in no hurry to leave, stopping to make comments to the woman, thanking her for a lovely visit and so on. Emily waited patiently, allowing the patrons to leave before attempting to get in. When the staff member—most likely a volunteer, Emily thought—caught sight of her, she gave her a polite nod of acknowledgment.

Finally, the last of Westbury Hall’s visitors moved out, leaving Emily free to enter. Climbing the single stone step to the threshold of the front porch, she took the hand that had already been offered to her.

Shaking Emily’s hand with a surprising firmness, the woman said, “You must be Miss Stone.” Her smart appearance and the intelligence in her eyes indicated that despite her advancing age, she was far from past it, “I’m Mrs. Thompson, house supervisor.”

“I am,” replied Emily, dropping her hand back to her side, “but please, call me Emily. It’s lovely to meet you. So, house supervisor? Do you live on site?” Not a volunteer, then, but a paid member of staff.

Indicating Emily should step inside the entrance hall, Mrs. Thompson proceeded to close and lock the porch and front doors of the house, securing them in.

“I do,” the older woman said, turning back to face Emily, “I have rooms in a separate building just off the back of this one. So you needn’t worry about me disturbing you.”

“Oh no,” said Emily, worried she’d inadvertently rubbed Mrs.  Thompson up the wrong way, “I didn’t mean that. I was just curious, that’s all. You’re more than welcome to see me at work, Mrs. Thompson, although I’m afraid you won’t see anything terribly exciting.”

Mrs. Thompson smiled now, the warmth reaching her eyes. Emily almost sagged with relief. She’d yet to see the extent of the work she had to do, but she’d been told it was no easy task, so she could be here for some time. The last thing she needed was to upset any of the staff.

“Oh, you’d be surprised, my dear. This is a fascinating old place. Of course, all these old houses have history, but Westbury Hall’s is particularly rich.”

Emily smiled. The woman’s enthusiasm was infectious. “Well then,” she replied, “I can’t wait to learn more about it. I hope you’ll feed me some historical tidbits throughout the time I’m here?”

Mrs. Thompson gave an enigmatic smile. Then, startling Emily somewhat, she turned smartly on her heel and walked deeper into the house. “Come, my dear, I won’t hold you up any longer. I’ll show you to the library, where you’ll soon start uncovering Westbury’s illustrious history for yourself.”

Review

Although this is re-release, Lucy is a new author to me. So when she mentioned that she was releasing this version, I jumped at the chance to read it. (Thanks again Lucy!)

Now I should mention that I am not too much into the paranormal, shifter, supernatural type of books. I will venture into them from time to time, but I have to really love the blurb and author. For my favorite authors, I will read just about anything they write, good or bad. What can I say, I love my authors and will support them in way I can.

So back to Timeless Desire, it is a quick read about a Emily who works in the library cleaning books when she learns about the resident ghost. She feels him at odd times and being the caring person she is, she just has to help him. So with the help of the sexy, hunk of a man, night watchman, George, they go about doing just that. These two really are great together!

Of course, along the way the two run the gamut of emotions (remember they are dealing with a ghost after all) and come to realize they like each other. So after helping William (the ghost) move on, these two move on each other and on a very lucky desk! Very hot!

I really loved this short story. It was sweet, kind, funny and a bit spooky at times. I will, most defiantly, be reading more by Lucy!

About The Author

I’m Lucy Felthouse, and I’m a chocoholic, a writer, a marketer and a web geek. I dabble in a bit of everything; but primarily I do the following things:

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and have been published since 2006 in magazines, books and online.

This site has information about how I got started with my writing, where I’ve been published and so on. Check out my blog to see what’s happening with my latest projects, or head on over and check out my book reviews (which aren’t just of erotic books). If you’re looking for more general information on erotic writing and authors, might I suggest heading on over to Erotica For All. Yes, that’s one of mine!

When I graduated from University I started working in PR & Marketing. In early 2011 I decided to become self-employed; writing for part of the time and doing web design, PR & Marketing for the rest of the time. You can find out all about the services I offer on my website, Writer Marketing.

I graduated from the University of Derby in June 2006. My final year dissertation was on erotic literature; and how women’s roles in the genre have increased as social attitudes change.

I have written seriously since secondary school, but it wasn’t until the second year of my A Levels that I decided to go to University and study Creative Writing. It was in my first year at University of Derby that one of my friends persuaded me to have a go at writing erotic literature. So I wrote Sam & Katie which was based on my friend’s fantasy of having sex with his high school teacher. I took the completed piece into University and it went down incredibly well with all my friends that read it. I’ve never looked back.

I’ve written for various magazines and websites, and you can find a list of books I’ve appeared in on my Published Works page.

My hobbies and interests include; reading and writing, watching films, checking out other writers’ websites and blogs, spending time with friends and family; walking and camping. My greatest achievements to date are:
  • In May 2007 I did an eight-mile walk around Carsington Water in Derbyshire in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, I raised over £120.
  • Climbing Snowdon in June 2008. I raised £457 for the British Heart Foundation. The total amount raised by myself and my colleagues was just over £8,000!
  • In September 2009, I completed a Ladies’ Driving Challenge organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care. I raised £290.
  • In July 2010, I took part in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK. I raised £332.
  • An anthology I edited, Uniform Behaviour, donates a portion of the proceeds to Help for Heroes.
  • In 2012, I contributed a story to the Felt Tips anthology, with all proceeds going to an organization that helps struggling schools supply their classrooms.
  • I co-edited and contributed to Coming Together: With Curves in 2013, will all proceeds of the book going to Parkinson’s UK.
  • I contributed a story to Coming Together: In The Trenches in 2013, will all proceeds of the book going to Protect Our Defenders.
  • I knit teddies which are used in various Mothers’ Union efforts.
